Cairo Governor inspects the leaning building in Zamalek area

Cairo Governor Major- General Khaled Abdel Aal inspected on Monday, building no. 17 on Brazil Street in Zamalek area as it was affected by land subsidence, while the authorities evacuated the whole building to ensure the safety of the residents.

 

The governor further decided to form an engineering committee to inspect the condition of the building and how much it was affected by the land subsidence.

 

It is worth mentioning that the building consists of two parts, the first overlooks Brazil Street and has 12 floors, while the second part of the building has 11 floors and overlooks Aziz Abaza Street and.

 

The preliminary inspection showed that the building suffered from some damages and vertical cracks. There is also land subsidence in the garage of the building. The entrance of the Embassy of Bahrain building also suffered land subsidence.
