Cairo Governor inspects new Tunsi Market

Cairo Governor Khaled Abdel Aal inspected Saturday the new Tunsi Market in Al-Basatin suburb, which includes 667 shops after removing the old one located in El-Khalifa suburb in line with political leadership's instruction to provide a decent life to all citizens and eradicate informal settlements as well as relocate the vendors to new urban sites. 

 

Moreover, Abdel Aal pointed out that the new Tunsi Market was built on an area of 30 thousand square meters and cost LE 300 million to relocate the vendors of the old markets located under Al-Tunsi Bridge. 

 

Furthermore, the governor inspected the site of the old market located under Al-Tunsi Bridge and directed to speed up the removal of any demolition debris and pave all roads.

 
 
The governor was accompanied by Deputy Governor of Cairo Eng. Jihan Abdel Moneim, Chief of Basatin District Ahmed Gouda, and several officials of the Arab Contractors Company and Cairo governorate.
