Following Egypt’s political leadership’s directions to completely eradicate informal settlements in Egypt by the end of 2020, Cairo Governor Khaled Abdel Aal led a campaign on Sunday morning to inspect the ongoing demolition works of informal areas in Mataria district.
Moreover, the governor directed the executive bodies in the capital to move the residents of the area to El-Mahrousa 1&2 housing project in preparation to evacuate and redesign the area as part of the state’s plan to eradicate slums and provide a decent life to citizens.
The governor further asserted the solidarity of the capital’s bodies and authorities to follow the political leadership to eliminate the informal areas by the end of this year.
