Cairo Governor visits injured of El-Salam collapsed building

Cairo governor Khaled Abdel Aal visited Saturday El-Salam Hospital to check on the condition of the injured of the collapsed building in El-Salam suburb, and he directed to provide injured citizens with necessary medical care.

 

Abdel Aal also assured that immediately after the incident, the hospital declared highest level of alert and presence of all medical personnel to provide the necessary medical care to the injured citizens.

 

Moreover, Abdel Aal decided to form an engineering committee to inspect the condition of the adjacent buildings to determine how much they were affected by the collapse and to remove the debris after public prosecution finishes the investigation.  

 

Earlier on Saturday, the Cairo governorate's operations room received a report that a building consists of a basement, a ground floor, and nine floors on El-Thalaga Street in the El-Salam suburb collapsed at 3 am.

 

The governor immediately headed to the scene of the incident, accompanied by civil protection teams and security officials to follow up the ongoing rescue operations. Abdel Aal announced 24 injuries and 5 deaths so far.

 

Civil protection teams continue searching the rubble for more victims.
