Cairo Gov., Sports Min. inaugurate gym, pool at Maadi Club

Cairo Governor Khaled Abdel Aal and Minister of Youth and Sports Dr. Ashraf Sobhy inaugurated a semi-Olympic swimming pool and a gymnasium, which is a Japanese grant under the protocol signed between the ION Foundation and The Ministry of Youth and Sports at the Maadi Youth Club. They also inaugurated the Friendly Space Hall as part of a project to provide safety, empowerment, and protection for refugees and host communities at youth clubs in cooperation with the Care Egypt Foundation.
 

Attended The inauguration ceremony are the Japanese Ambassador to Egypt, officials of the UN Migration Organization, and several executives of the Cairo governorate and the Ministry of Youth and sports.

 

During the inauguration, Sobhy inspected the Maadi Olympic Center for hosting Olympic teams and asserted that the state and political leadership in Egypt attaches great importance to developing sports teams and clubs as well as identifying outstanding talents in sports and qualifying them for championships and competitions.

 

For his part, Abdel Aal said that the Cairo governorate, in cooperation with the Ministry of Youth and Sports, provides all kinds of sports, medical, cultural, and social services for citizens. He also pointed out that the Cairo governorate spares no effort to support youth and develop youth clubs across Cairo.
