Cairo Governor Khaled Abdel Aal attended the 2nd pottery festival held by the Cairo governorate from 3 to 5 July 2022 under the theme “The Clay Jewelers” at the Pottery Village in the Fustat area, Misr Al-Qadima neighborhood in the presence of Former Minister of Water and Wastewater Utilities and former Cairo Governor; Abdel Qawi Khalif, Deputy Cairo Governor; Eng. Jihan Abdel Moneim, several executives of Cairo governorate and members of the House of Representatives and the Senate, visual artists, and fine art professors.
During his visit, Abdel Aal asserted that the festival comes in line with the political leadership’s instructions to develop the Pottery Village in the Fustat area to revive one of Egypt’s oldest traditional crafts. He added that it is also part of the state’s plan to support and encourage artisans, given it reflects our national identity.
