Within the framework of Cairo’s National Day celebrations and the state’s efforts to relocate Cairo’s flea and street markets and improve the quality of life in the neediest areas, Cairo Governor Khaled Abdel Aal inaugurated the Talkha Official Market and the development work of Madinet El-Noor and the expansion of Aboud Pedestrian Pathway in the Zaweya El-Hamra district.
During the inauguration ceremony, Abdel Aal said that the project, which is a grant from the European Union delegated to the French Development Agency, is part of a partnership between the EU, the French agency, the Cairo governorate in coordination with the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency, and Cairo governorate’s Unit of Informal Areas Upgrade.
Moreover, Abdel Aal commended the collaborative efforts between international and local development partners to implement the Egyptian government’s priority programs that aim to improve the quality of services delivered to citizens, eradicate informal settlements, and provide a decent life.
