Cairo Governor Khaled Abdel Aal inspected Sunday morning, the beginning of the exams of core subjects of the Thanaweya Amma (exams of the pre-university year) at the Tabary El-Hegaz Boys’ Secondary School and the Nubar Girls’ Secondary School, and he urged students to follow the guidelines for entering examination committees to prevent overcrowding before the exams.
Abdel Aal also inspected some examination committees to ensure the implementation of preventive measures concerning physical distance among students during their exams.
Abdel Aal was accompanied by Deputy Cairo Governor Dr. Ibrahim Saber, Deputy Cairo Governor Ibrahim Abdel Hadi, Director of Cairo’s Education Directorate Ayman Mousa, and several officials of the Cairo governorate.
Moreover, Abdel Aal asserted that schools applied maximum protection and preventive measures to ensure students’ safety before, during, and after exams, adding that executive bodies of Cairo governorate provided all facilities to assure regularity of the examination process and took all necessary measures to create a calm and safe environment for students, teachers, invigilators, and system and security workers.
During his tour, Abdel Aal announced that the total number of Thanaweya Amma students this year are 1133431 from 33 education departments distributed to 303 examination committee across Cairo.
Abdel Aal, furthermore, stressed the necessity to provide cold water to students to overcome hot weather while attending their exams and ensure that ceiling fans are working properly.
Abdel Aal also urged directors of education departments across Cairo to periodically follow up on examination committees to ensure that all preventive measures and necessary preparations are implemented, including lighting systems and proper ventilation.
Abdel Aal also directed district chiefs to follow up on the availability of civil protection equipment and fire extinguishers in each school and remove any occupancies or street vendors outside schools.
In addition, Abdel Aal urged sterilizing all examination committees after each exam and providing hand sanitizers in all toilets inside the school.
Abdel Aal added that there is coordination with Cairo Traffic to regulate traffic on the streets leading to schools where exams are held to avoid traffic congestion and coordination with Cairo’s Health Directorate to provide an ambulance and a physician in each education department.
At the end of his tour, Abdel Aal met some of the student’s parents and assured them that their children had begun their exams in a calm and safe atmosphere.
