Cairo Governor bans weekly markets in the capital due to coronavirus

Cairo Governor Khaled Abdel Aal decided to ban all the weekly local markets across Cairo as part of the preventive measures taken by the state to prevent gatherings and curb the spread of the novel coronavirus COVID 19.

 

Moreover, the governor directed his deputies and Cairo's districts' chiefs on Friday April 3rd   to coordinate with security forces to implement the decision of the ban.

 

In this context, several of Cairo's districts banned all weekly markets for the third week in a row, including the Friday market, the pigeon market, and the dog market in el-Khalifa district.

 

Additionally, the executive bodies in Cairo governorate prevented the opening of Amr Ibn Al-Aas market in Masr El-Qadima district, and the car market in Madinet Nasr district to preserve public health.

 

Furthermore, the Helwan district launched a crackdown in several areas to make sure that the ban is implemented.
