Cairo Governorate has begun
on Monday the second phase of demolishing Hikr El-Sakakiny informal area in El-Sharabia
district as the residents of the area will be transferred to El-Mahrousa
buildings 1 &2. The demolition comes as part of Cairo governorate’s plan to
eradicate informal areas in Cairo.
Meanwhile, Cairo Governor Khaled Abdel Aal gave instructions to provide trucks for the residents to move their furniture and personal items, adding that all the housing units are fully furnished upon the directives of President El-Sisi.
The demolition started on Monday morning under the supervision of Deputy Cairo Governor Dr. Hossam El-Din Fawzy, Director of Cairo utility Mr. Ihab Arafa, and security forces, and several district’s officials.
