Sisi attends funeral of former commander of Egypt's air forces

Egypt's President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi attended the military funeral of former commander of the air forces Ahmed Abdel Rahman Nasr at the Field Marshal Tantawy Mosque in Cairo on Sunday.

 

Defence Minister Mohamed Zaki and Armed Forces Chief of Staff Mohamed Farid attended the funeral, as did other military commanders.

 
According to a statement from El-Sisi’s office, Nasr graduated from the air force academy in 1956 and participated in all Egypt's wars from 1956 to October 1973, when he served as a commander for one of the air brigades.  Nasr served as the commander of the air forces from 1990 to 1996.
