Egypt's Sisi discusses regional threats with heads of Arab intelligence services

Egypt's President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi received on Monday the heads of Arab intelligence agencies who participated in the Arab Intelligence Forum held on 22-23 February in Cairo.

 

Egyptian Presidency Spokesman Bassam Rady said in a statement on Sunday that President El-Sisi discussed with the attendees the most prominent topics tackled at the forum, focusing on combating terrorism, extremism and organized crime.

 

Discussions probed into the best practices and methods to effectively confront the threats in a comprehensive manner that takes into account the developmental, social and cultural attributes of the different Arab countries to achieve security and stability.

 
 

Rady said that President El-Sisi welcomed the Arab delegations participating in the forum, and emphasized Egypt’s support to the initiatives that aim to boost cooperation between Arab countries.

 

The Arab Intelligence Forum was held upon the invitation of the Egyptian General Intelligence Service. Several meetings were held on the sidelines of the forum addressing the risks and threats facing Arab national security.
