Cairo Governor inaugurates El-Zawia El-Hamra market

Cairo Governor Khaled Abdel Aal inaugurated on Tuesday morning, 12 May 2020, the new market of El-Zawia El-Hamra as part of the state's direction to create more job opportunities for the youth to eliminate unemployment and within the framework of the governorate's plan to find alternative places for informal markets and to provide markets vendors and visitors with an urban environment.

 

The governor pointed out that the two-story market is established on an area of 2275 m2 at cost of 7 million pounds. He also confirmed that the market has all the necessary safety and security factors, including an advanced fire extinguisher network for the protection of both vendors and visitors. He added that it was taken in account all industrial safety measure. He also stressed the necessity of applying all the precautionary measures taken by the state to stem the spread of the novel coronavirus to visitors, including wearing face masks and measuring temperature.

 

The new market consists of two floors, five administrative offices, five restrooms, and electrical transformer room to serve the project. The market's ground floor includes 99 stalls for selling vegetables, fruits, meat, fish, and poultry.  As for the second floor, it consists of 110 shops that offers various products such as clothes, accessories, and grocery.
