Cairo Launches a campaign to lift abandoned vehicles from streets

Cairo Governor Khaled Abdel Aal urged on Monday 17 February 2020 all Cairo’s districts ‘chiefs to intensify efforts to lift all the occupancies and abandoned vehicles from the capital’s streets and squares in coordination with the police forces.
 

The campaign aims at imposing discipline and order on the streets and enforcing the law against any violators, the Governor said. He added that these abandoned vehicles represent a danger to the public and surrounding buildings as it could be used for terrorist or sabotage operations. Moreover, it negatively affects the appearance of the capital.

 

Following the directives of Cairo Governor, many abandoned and dilapidated cars and occupancies were lifted from several areas.
