Egypt opens world’s first telc-SIS academy

Egypt has inaugurated the world’s first telc-SIS-Akademie, a new initiative aiming at aligning education with the international labor market demands, particularly in Europe.

The academy was launched by the Cabinet-affiliated Education Development Fund, in collaboration with Saxony International School, telc gGmbH, and Saxony Egypt University for Applied Sciences and Technology (SEU). A parliamentary delegation from Germany’s Saxony state attended the event.

The move builds on a strategic co-operation protocol signed last year between the fund and SEU, designed to advance applied and technological education in Egypt and expand pathways for young Egyptians to access global job markets, especially in Germany.

The academy will offer integrated German-language training in line with internationally accredited telc standards, alongside cultural and professional preparation. The goal is to equip participants with the skills needed for employment or study in Germany.

The Fund’s Secretary-General Rasha Saad Sharaf described the initiative as a “qualitative leap” in Egypt’s education system, highlighting its role in transferring global expertise and enhancing youth employability.

SEU President Mohamed Abdel Rahman said the partnership reflects a commitment to high-quality, internationally aligned education, positioning the academy as a comprehensive platform for preparing students for global careers.
